In January, the Dunlap School District asked for recommendations for a new name and mascot for the new elementary school.

When the deadline for submitting ideas ended on Feb. 4, the district had over 60 suggestions for the school being built on the corner of Hickory Grove and Allen Road.

Now, by going to the Dunlap District website, stakeholders can vote on their favorite school name and school mascot. After the voting ends on Feb. 18, the District will take the top three choices and present them to the elementary core planning committee to make a final selection.

Names for the school range from Albert Einstein Elementary School to Eagle’s Nest Academy to Wild Widow Elementary School, while mascot names include the Alligators, Comets, Dragons, Wranglers and more.

The school is planned to open in the fall of 2012.
