Instructional materials fee
Each pupil is required to pay a textbook fee at the time of registration.  

The textbook fee is used to purchase basic and auxiliary texts, periodicals, workbooks, science, home economics, industrial arts, music and art materials and supplies.

The following fee schedule approximates the cost to the district of books and consumable supplies at each level:
Grades K-8 — $50, high school — $75

User fees include:
$20 per athlete per sport (5-8)
$40 per athlete per sport (9-12)

Medical, dental and vision exams
State law requires a medical examination of all children upon entrance into kindergarten or first grade, sixth grade and ninth grade.

A dental examination is required for all children in kindergarten, second and sixth grades before May 15 of the current school year.

Medical and dental examinations are also required of all students new to the district prior to or upon entrance into Chillicothe schools, if they have not been examined in accordance with the above, and the report obtainable.

State law also requires immunization of all school children against rubella, measles, mumps, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and polio.

Pertussis (whooping cough) immunization is required for children 6 years of age and younger.  

All students entering pre-K and grades five through 12 are required to have proof of Hepatitis B vaccination.  

All children entering pre-K or kindergarten for the first time and students in grades first through sixth are required to have a varicella (chickenpox) vaccine. A Hib vaccine is required for pre-K students only.

A vision examination is required for all students entering kindergarten or upon first entry into an Illinois school. The exam must be completed by a physician licensed to practice medicine in all  branches or a licensed optometrist.  

Proof of the eye exam must be submitted to the school by Oct. 15.
