The Illinois Valley Central Lady Ghost track team experienced success Saturday at Galesburg.

Tawnie McGann finished with times of 9.11 and 9.17 seconds in the 55 hurdles, earning her a spot at the Prep Top Times Meet Friday at Illinois Wesleyan University.

The team of Jenna Magee, Emily Bartlett, Sarah James and McGann completed the 4x200 in 1:53.22 minutes, which puts them sixth in the state rankings.

The same group of four Ghosts finished the 4x400 with a time of 4:21.96 minutes, for an improvement of more than eight seconds to put them fifth in the state in the event.

Jessica Owdom and Shay Burger both showed improvement in the distance events last weekend as well when they improved on previous times.

“Brooke Rudolph barely missed qualifying in the high jump at 4-10,” coach Bob Prout said.

Hayley White also posted several of her best jumps of the season in the long jump with a distance of 14 feet-4 inches and a jump of 28-4 in the triple jump.

Bartlett also improved over the weekend with a high jump of 4-8.

The Ghosts next compete at the Top Times Meet at IWU Friday night with times to be announced.
