After an impressive undefeated season, the Chillicothe Junior High Mustangs lost their only game of the season when they fell in three sets in the State championship game to Pleasant Plains Tuesday at Riverton.

The Mustangs dominated play in the first set, thanks in part to the net defense of Brooke Ratcliff and the hustle of Jamie Mann.
CJH won the set, 25-14.
Pleasant Plains' offense played more efficiently in the second game and the Mustangs had trouble responding during stretches.
Despite the heads-up defense of Sarah Daum, the Mustangs dropped the game, 26-24.
With the State title on the line, CJH was unable to overcome the offensive tenacity of Pleasant Plains and lost the tiebreaker set, 25-7.
CJH finishes the season with a 25-7.

As seventh graders last year, the team went undefeated and won the State title.
