The Illinois Valley Central Kiwanis Club and the Chillicothe Public Library are sponsoring an Earth Stewardship Multimedia program tonight.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the library, 430 N. Bradley Ave., in the public meeting room.
In celebration of Earth Day on Wednesday, John Mullen, assistant chief naturalist with the Peoria Park District, will give a multimedia presentation about recycling, energy conservation, ecological stewardship of local nature preserves and local Illinois River Bluffs.
The first 50 attendees will receive an energy efficient CFL bulb kit, courtesy of Ameren Illinois utilities. Two carbon monoxide kits also will be given away, plus earth-friendly reusable grocery bags.
Refreshments also will be served.
Dave Ramsey's Town Hall for Hope is a live nationwide town hall meeting to discover what’s happening with the economy, how we got here, and where we’re going.
Free event is 7 p.m. tonight, hosted by Chillicothe Christian Church, 510 Frances St.

The Peoria Casting Club offers the public a chance to join in a catfish tournament Sunday.
Participants will sign in from 4:30 to 5:30 a.m. The tournament begins at 6 a.m. and ends at noon.
Cost is $30 for each two-man team. Team payout determined by the number of boats.
The public also is invited to attend the weigh-in at noon. Refreshments and food will be available beginning at 10 a.m.
Participants may register that day for the event, or call Brad Daum at 274-6474 for a registration form.
