Chillicothe Historical Society members opened the Rock Island Depot Museum on Cedar Street for the public to see after the 59th annual Santa Claus parade Saturday.

The fully restored circa 1880's depot is one of few remaining wooden depots in Illinois.

Original interior houses a treasure trove of Rock Island Railroad and Santa Fe Railroad memorabilia from the golden age of railroading.
